CLAS Staff Council partnered with members of the University of Iowa Staff Council January 24th to assemble kits for the Domestic Violence Intervention Program.

CLAS Staff Council elections will take place in March. Candidate information will be published the first week and voting will take place the second week.

What's going on? This month we would like to highlight the results of the visioning workshop from September where staff volunteers shared their experiences, ideas, and plans for the College. The Mary Louise Kelley Professional Development Award supports the commitment of CLAS staff to job-related continuing education, training, and professional activity. Staff members in the College may apply for this award to help defray the costs of coursework, workshops, training opportunities on or off campus, or attendance at regional, national, or international meetings. Application Deadline: Friday, November 11, 2022

CLAS Wellness Week, from October 24th till October 27th. Activities are designed for UI employees to invest in their well-being, learn about wellness benefits available to you, be active, and connect with colleagues.

The purpose of the workshop was to develop input and recommendations for the Dean’s Office representing the views of the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences staff on the following topics: Communication within the college; hybrid work arrangements; staff contributions to the Strategic Plan and DEI; performance reviews. CLAS staff council and CLAS staff volunteers met on September 16.

As the university celebrates its 175th anniversary, we are charting a course that will build on our extraordinary history to lead us into an even brighter future.  We will advance excellence in our core missions, accelerate progress in areas of strategic importance, and establish the University of Iowa as a destination of first choice for talented faculty, staff, and students.  Development of the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan will be grounded in continuous campus feedback from students, faculty, staff, and external groups.

Hello University of Iowa Students, Faculty, and Staff, It's with much excitement to be sharing out the 15th Annual, newly renamed, LNACC in Action Celebration Week. As an effort to be more inclusive of all the identities within our space, the Latino Native American Cultural Center (LNACC) has decided to rename what is formerly known as Latinx in Action Celebration to, the new, LNACC in Action Celebration Week. We hope that we are more able to uplift and give space to our identities now and in the future.
